Anticipation

It's now 9 days until we leave. It's hard to believe we are that close already. I'm really excited to go, but I'm also a little nervous because I've never gone on a trip this big before. I've been on a two week trip to Guatemala and Honduras, but that was with a group and everything was already planned by someone else. This time we are making our own plans and even traveling some without specific arrangements in place. I'm sure it's just not knowing what really to expect.

Here is a video from a market in Bogra, Bangladesh to give you an idea of what we will experience:

Update

It's been awhile since I have posted anything, so I thought I would update our travel plans. We are definitely going to Nepal now. Dad and I fly out of O'Hare on Friday, Oct. 9. It will take about 22 hours to travel to Bangladesh, and when we arrive there it will be really early on Sunday morning there. We plan on driving from the airport in Dhaka to Bogra and spending the next two days there. On Tuesday, Oct. 13, we drive back tot he airport in Dhaka and fly to Kathmandu, Nepal. We will spend the next week travelling to Pokhara and hiking for a few days there. Phillip is currently working on arranging for a guide for our hiking trip which will last 3-4 days. After a few days in Pokhara, we travel back to Bangladesh via Kathmandu on Tuesday, Oct. 20. After that, we are unsure exactly how we will spend the rest of our time in Bangladesh. One possibility is to travel to Mymensingh which is another spot in Bangladesh where MCC is located. We fly out of Bangladesh early on Friday, Oct. 23. We arrive on Friday afternoon at O'Hare. This will give us the weekend to adjust and rest up before it is back to work on Monday.

Here is a video I found on You Tube that shows Pokhara and the surrounding area:
